There’s been a lot of talk about raising the minimum wage here in the US, recently. I was on the side of raising it, and then I read some arguments and now I’m not so sure that it’s the solution. Many people claim that it’d cause inflation and we’d be right back where we started. I’m no economist so I’m not sure how true that is, but I could see it at least being somewhat of a problem. You also can’t just raise it up from $8 to $15 or whatever all at once. And what about the people who make above minimum? Will their wages rise too?

I’m a bit overweight. I spend a lot of time on the internet. As such, I read a lot of people’s opinions about fat people. Their advice is usually along the lines of “put down the fork” or “just eat less and move more” and they say things like “it’s not that hard!”, “just get some willpower/self control”, and “take responsibility for your health!” What they really mean is “I’ve never struggled with this, so you shouldn’t either!” and “I think you’re disgusting and I wish you’d change so I didn’t have to look at you!”

There are lots of diets out there, but one that really bugs me is the Paleo diet. I’m not necessarily going to say that there’s anything wrong with that way of eating. If it makes you feel healthy, then by all means, eat however you want, I don’t care. What bugs me is that the Paleo diet claims to eat the way we’re “supposed” to eat, because that’s how primitive humans ate.
This bugs me. Just because people have been doing something for thousands of years or did something thousands of years ago doesn’t necessarily make it right or healthy. You know what else humans did thousands of years ago? Slept in caves and used leaches to cure disease. Should we get rid of all modern medicine and stop sleeping in houses because it’s “unnatural”? Of course not.
If you want to advocate for the Paleo diet or any other diet, use studies and scientific evidence, not feel good sayings like “it’s natural” and “it’s how our ancestors ate”. It just makes you sound like a hippy douche.
You may have heard the saying “either everything’s okay to poke fun at, or nothing is” and I whole heartedly agree. Continue reading Why It’s Okay To Make Fun Of Everything
I’m going to try to keep this short because I could go on and on all day about it, but that won’t accomplish anything.
Recently there was a stabbing at a high school in Pennsylvania. The boy wielded two kitchen knives and injured 22 people, including an armed security guard. This tragedy could have been much worse had the boy had a gun. We’d have god knows how many dead kids on our hands instead of 20 some injured ones.

I’ve been looking into Adobe Creative Cloud for some time because, well, I can’t afford to pay thousands of dollars for Flash and Photoshop, and I want Flash and Photoshop. I was searching around for more information, and came across this article:
I just have to counter some of the things in this article. Continue reading Adobe Creative Cloud Criticisms and Article Rebuttal
The recent “controversy” surrounding Nick Cannon’s “white face” is stupid. Personally, I think he looks good and I’m rather impressed with the makeup. I wouldn’t have known who it was if they hadn’t told me.

I hate it when people complain about people complaining about businesses. Take Facebook for example. They recently updated the way business pages are displayed, and people are upset about it. Then other people come into the discussion and say things like “Facebook is free, you have no right to complain!”
First of all, I have every right to complain. Just because Facebook is free doesn’t mean it isn’t making money off of me. Facebook and other businesses (even ones that offer free services) are successful because of their customers. Yes, Facebook has customers. Every person that uses Facebook is a customer and potential ad revenue. They’re making money off of me, why shouldn’t I get to complain?
